Work and Humor
My son is gainfully employed. He went on a working interview last Tuesday and was called last Thursday and offered the job. He started today. He’s working at the College of Veterinary Medicine (which is just a short free campus bus ride away). This is good news; very good news, and Momma is happy.
A conversation my son and I had this morning as we both readied for work:
Me: You know, son, you could buy a moped and drive it to work.
Son: Yeah, that’ll help me get dates.
Me: Well, there’s no shame in not owning a vehicle.
Son: Yeah, and then I’ll tell her, "Come home and meet my roommate!"
One of the things I admire and enjoy most in my son is his sense of humor! It’s what will get him through the sometimes doldrums of everyday life. This I know.
