Miss Amy Li Xing was born Wednesday, April 18, 2007 at 6:11 p.m. Weighing in at 6 lbs. 4 oz, and being 19.3 inches long, Amy proudly showed off her head full of black hair. Mom and Dad are both very happy and proud to be Amy’s parents. Tracy had a tough time with her labor. Being induced can sometimes be brutal. However, she was a real trooper and in the end she came through with flying colors. As Tracy began the pushing phase of Amy’s birth, we all counted in Chinese from 1 to 10 with each contraction as a nurse monitored Amy’s progress. The nurses and folks on the floor thought we were singing! Ha ha
Hua was supposed to arrive at 12:00 and we figured Amy would be born that evening. His flight, however, was delayed out of Boston due to weather and he did not arrive in Knoxville until 3:40. He arrived at the hospital a little after 4:00 p.m. and Miss Amy was born at 6:11 p.m. A close call but he made it!
Yesterday, Dad changed his first diaper as I guided him through the process. He did a great job and it was a poopy diaper to boot! :) Mom is doing great and the new Xing family is coming home from the hospital today. I took about 65 photographs, chronicling the entire experience for Tracy and Hua and about 10 videos. Amy is a very good baby and is eating well and rarely cries. I actually think little Amy knows my voice, as well as her mother and father. She is very curious and already seems to focus on Mom and Dad’s face.

The world has a new citizen.....and a very beautiful one (nah, I'm not biased at all!).
